About

The Red Curtain Project (RCP) is a digital storytelling initiative that creates dynamic performances of cultural stories reflecting the diverse communities and voices of America. An educational project created by Thresh, RCP is geared towards engaging children ages 6–12, inspiring them to take pride in their own ancestry whilst simultaneously celebrating the beauty of other communities.

RCP was founded in 2020 by Thresh's Artistic Director Preeti Vasudevan, in collaboration with international choreographers, composers, visual artists, and authors, as a way to provide access to educational materials for communities impacted by COVID-19 lockdowns. RCP produced 14 digital performances of Indian heritage stories during its inaugural year. Currently, the initiative is focused on releasing stories commemorating heritage months celebrated in the United States to honor and acknowledge a wide diaspora of cultures.
